On-Going Training

All caregivers approved to provide care to children in out-of-home placements must obtain Continued Parent Development (CPD) hours. CPD hours must be relevant to the type of children placed or being placed in the home. A minimum of 15 hours of training is required each year. Families approved with child placing agencies may be required to achieve more than 15 hours of training.

Local or Regional training hours will be arranged by the Caregiver Recruitment and Retention Specialist assigned to your area. Annual AFPAG Conference

The annual AFPAG Conference is held each year in February and is an excellent opportunity for all resource caregivers across the state to receive training, resources, recognition, and to network other parents. Please contact your local/regional Caregiver Recruitment and Retention Specialist for more information on registration and possible scholarship opportunities.
